Learning Spaces

Whilst there are specific, designated, multi-purpose areas around the school, we view the whole school environment, both inside and out, as one large learning space.

Learning Spaces:
The inside environment  includes an ICT suite, an Art and Science shared teaching space and the stage area – Space 2 create – which is used for Drama and Music. Space 2 Create also houses our Art Gallery and is where our school band can be found practising.

We have a large hall in the centre of the school which is a very busy, well-used space indeed. The hall is where our weekly assemblies take place, but it is also used by the PE specialist, our Nursery children and at lunchtimes our children can be found sitting, eating their pack lunches.

Not only that, but we often have visiting drama companies who use the hall as a performance space and guest speakers or perfomers who use the space to communicate with the whole school. We also uses the hall as a performance space for our own school shows and presentations.

The school has two libraries; one for the lower stages and one for the upper stages. Both are bright and airy rooms and have ample space to accomodate a variety of learning experiences.

The school also has communal working spaces which allow pupils to work either independently or with pupils from other clases in a collaborative learning context.

The outside environment includes a purpose built ‘outside classroom’ where children can play and work in the shade of the trees. We also have a nature garden and a wooded area where we can explore the environment and build on our Forest Schools experiences.
