Parent Teacher Association (PTA)
One of Banchory Primary School PTA’s main ongoing aims is to:
“……….Advance education by means of promoting close cooperation and communication between the Staff, parents, pupils and others associated with Banchory Primary School”
The constitution also states that we will aim to:
“……….provide and assist in the provision of facilities for education at the school (not normally provided by the local education authority). This will normally be done thought the organisation of social, educational and fundraising activities…….”
In striving towards these objectives, we usually plan a programme of social and/or fund raising activities throughout the year. Our main fundraiser, is our Summer Extravaganza.
The pupils have benefited from these fund raising efforts with a variety of resources and equipment being part financed by the PTA.
The main purchase for the 2012/13 session was numeracy resources for all classes.
In the 2012/13 session the PTA raised a stunning £10,633!
Some regular activities we organise include:
- Secret Christmas Room (funds raised go to charity)
- Family ceilidh in January
- “Bags to School”.
- Summer Extravaganza
We also like to introduce new and different activities.
For example, for Christmas 2012 we produced “A Singing Christmas Card” CD. This was very successful and formed the basis of the school’s 2012 Christmas Show.
It is vital that we keep our numbers boosted up so that we can maintain a strong supportive group for the school and we would love to hear YOUR ideas for social and fundraising activities, so that we can continue to offer a varied programme of events to support the school.
Please contact us via the email address provided here, or you can pop along to our next meetings which are Fridays, once a term, 9:10 in the school canteen. See school calendar dates here for meetings.
Best wishes to you all,
From the PTA
